Clark used Black and Brown trading stamps and felt pen and ink for this drawing. The stamps soaked in water to take the brown color out. Clark obtained the images from a Calendar depicting Mardi Gras in New Orleans Louisiana. He turned the Madi Gras into a funeral march and street protest. © Claude Lockhart Clark, October 25, 2015

This is an African drawing making the use of strong siluet images and patterns composed in three layers, foreground on the bottom, middle ground and background on the top layer.
